HEALTH & SAFETY

Health & Safety Guide

Stay safe and healthy during your Tanzanian adventure.

Vaccinations & Medicine

Consult your travel doctor or a medical professional at least 4-6 weeks before traveling to Tanzania. Standard recommended vaccinations include Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Typhoid, Tetanus, and Polio boosters.

Tanzania is a malaria-endemic country. You are strongly advised to take malaria prophylaxis (such as Atovaquone-Proguanil/Malarone, Doxycycline, or Mefloquine) as prescribed by your doctor. Always sleep under a mosquito net and use insect repellent containing DEET.

Safe Water & Food Hygiene

Do not drink tap water in Tanzania. Always drink bottled, filtered, or purified water. Avoid ice in drinks when outside major hotels, and use bottled water for brushing your teeth. We provide clean, sealed bottled mineral water throughout your safari inside our vehicles.

Ensure that your food is freshly cooked and served hot. Avoid raw or undercooked meat and seafood, and make sure that any fruits or vegetables you eat are peeled or washed thoroughly in clean water.

Safety in the Wild

While on safari, always listen to your driver-guide. Do not stand up in open vehicles or stick your limbs out. Wild animals are unpredictable; never try to feed, touch, or approach them. Remain inside the vehicle at all times unless in designated areas.
