Everything you need to know before your Tanzanian adventure.
Yes, most international visitors need a tourist visa. You can easily apply for an e-Visa online before arrival via the official Tanzania Immigration portal, or purchase one on arrival at major entry ports (like JRO, DAR, and ZNZ).
Yellow Fever vaccination is mandatory if you are arriving from or transiting through a country with a risk of Yellow Fever transmission. Malaria prophylaxis is highly recommended. Consult your doctor or a travel clinic at least 4-6 weeks before departure.
The dry season (June to October) is the best time for game viewing and witnessing the Great Wildebeest Migration in the Serengeti. For bird watching and lush green landscapes, the green season (November to May) is spectacular.
Pack lightweight, neutral-colored (khaki, olive, beige) clothing to blend with nature and avoid attracting insects. Include a warm fleece or jacket for early morning game drives, sturdy walking shoes, sun protection (hat, sunglasses, SPF), and a good camera with binoculars.
We use custom-designed 4x4 Toyota Land Cruisers. They feature a pop-up roof for 360-degree wildlife viewing and photography, comfortable seats, charging ports, a cooling fridge for drinks, and a high-frequency long-range radio.
Absolutely. Your safety is our absolute priority. Our professional guides are highly trained in animal behavior, safety protocols, and bush navigation. You will receive safety briefings before game drives, and our partner lodges feature 24/7 security.
Yes! We organize custom family-friendly safaris with shorter travel times and child-friendly lodges offering educational junior ranger activities. However, mountain trekking and certain walking safaris may have age limits (often 10-12+ years).
While animals are wild and must be respected, our guides know how to position the vehicle safely for close-up viewing without disturbing them. You will often see lions, elephants, and giraffes just a few meters away from your open-roof vehicle!
You can start by sending an inquiry through our Enquiry Form or emailing us at info@centuryadventures.com. Our travel consultants will work with you to customize your itinerary. To secure your booking, we require a deposit, with the balance paid before departure.
We accept secure online credit card payments (Visa, Mastercard), direct bank telegraphic wire transfers (USD/EUR), and mobile money payments for local transactions. Detailed payment instructions are provided upon booking confirmation.
Cancellations must be received in writing. Deposits are generally non-refundable as they secure park permissions and lodge bookings. Cancellation fees vary based on how many days prior to departure the cancellation is made. We strongly advise purchasing comprehensive travel insurance.
We run programs in Education & Teaching, Child Development, Healthcare Outreach, and Wildlife & Forest Conservation. Volunteers work alongside local leaders to support sustainable community development in Arusha, Moshi, and Dar es Salaam.
Most programs do not require specialized experience—only passion, adaptability, and a willingness to learn. However, Healthcare and Teaching Support programs may require specific certifications, background checks, or professional credentials.
Volunteers stay in secure, comfortable homestays with vetted local host families or shared volunteer houses. This provides a rich cultural immersion, including home-cooked Tanzanian meals (like Ugali, Pilau, and Ndizi) and daily Swahili practice.
